Dogs of War #5!

Brian!

Having your comic book come out on Christmas Eve is like trying to make sure no one goes out and buys it. So, y’know, go out and buy it! Especially you Jews out there, support one of your own!

I’m not sure why our Christmas cards are unnecessarily morbid. It may have to do with Christmas’s pagan sources, notably the Norse tradition of celebrating that the unbearable winter was half over, so those who had survived so far had a decent chance of making it to the end.

Now that is a party.

How much do you actually know about your grandmother? I mean really?

I thought #5 was a great finish to this volume. Reading Scottie's dialog was like talking to my grandmother, which naturally led to the idea of her being a commando, so chuckles all around. The only flipside… no Robo 'til March? Oh dear…

    Good points… I guess.

Am I right in thinking he was based off of your grandfathers? I've read on past blogs that they were veterans and big influences on you, if I'm not mistaken?

Milligan was inspired by Scott's grandfather, but practically to the point of parody. Robo owes a debt to my grandfather in certain ways.

    Right, thanks.

I'm currently writing a history essay involving Nazi Germany, and I was wondering if you and Scott would mind if I used Vanadis as an example of a fictional Nazi scientist, with due referencing? It's just to make a point about the extrapolation of Nazi science to make interesting villains.

Go nuts. In case it's relevant, her full name is Vanadis Valkyrie.

Just finished number 4, so I'll be grabbing this today. Sweet! I picked up the first 3 at Baltimore last year and loved them. Keep up the good work. What's next for Atomic Robo?
