Atomic Podcast 5

Brian!
atomic-podcast-5

Today we’re talking with Zack Finfrock. You know those mini-comics you get at the end of Atomic Robo? Well, he’s our longest running and most consistent contributor. He’s provided the artwork for at least one mini-comic in each volume thus far — possibly two in the current volume.

Zack also provides the art for one of my other webcomics, Warbot in Accounting. And he’s the creator of Emerson Wild: Monster Hunter, a new webseries that I’m helping to write.

He’s a busy little guy, but Jeff, D-Wegs, Scott, and I got together to talk about workin’ on Robo, Face Club, and a lot of other inane stuff. Enjoy!

I think its getting better. the quality was much higher on this one than the last one. Who is that bush league amateur that does your engineering? He sucks.

I wouldn’t call what he does “engineering”, m’self.

I’m inspired to create my own Face Club. As soon as it’s live, you’ll have an outpost in the Twin Cities.

I love that when I play the podcast, it says the Composer is David Wegener. I was totally hoping he’d start this weeks podcast with a reference to Dr. Vag. Oh well – good job Dave.

I thought it was funny that Zach complained about not getting enough “action” from Brian. You guys totally missed a golden opportunity on that one. Maybe next time.

Keep up the good work. I’m loving the comic and just ordered the trades online (through the site at Amazon).

Thanks for the ups. Just to be clear though, I spell it “Dr. Vaj” with a “J”.

I wonder if Amazon really still has copies of Vol.1?

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

Says they're “temporarily out of stock”, so I'm gonna say “not until December when the re-print comes out.”

    Re: “temporarily out of stock”
Isn't that a good thing? Doesn't that mean that the book is doing exceptionally well? I think so.

I'm just one of those weird guys who buys every issue, every trade, and sometimes every reissue of a book that I love. Of course, so far, that has only happened on Jeff Smith's “Bone”, Josh Howard's “Dead@17″ and Brian Wood's “Local”.

It's good for us in the sense that it means we sold a ton of books, but it's bad for us in the sense that we could be selling a ton more!

  • ScottWegna

I hate it when Amazon does that. Just tell me you don't have the book so I can look elsewhere.
