@vynsane: If we move the whole idea would be that popping in to see the rest of my family would mean driving a few blocks. No tolls and bridges.

I do love the Hudson valley -my brother lived near Kingston for a few years and it was a nice blend of country and city.

I don't know, it's probably never going to happen.

in terms of a move, might i suggest the lower/mid hudson valley? it's close enough to the city to commute (i do it four times a week) but much less congested and expensive compared to the city/long island/new jersey. also, the surroundings will be similar to NH (parks, lakes, mountains, rivers, forests) so it won't be a rude awakening. visits from and to SI will be easier with a nice drive along the palisades parkway with only a small amount of driving on the NJ tpke. just a thought.

@Matt: Haha, yeah I guess it has been a while.

@Tetsubo: We've been talking about it for a long time. I don't see it happening soon, but yeah there's a couple things I'd miss in NH. :)

I'm glad that you will soon get your comfy office back. I'm sad to hear about the potential move but I'm also not surprised by it. Good luck.
