vol-1-vol-2-vol-3-are-all-coming-atcha

This December, for the first time ever, all three volumes of Atomic Robo will be available. If history is any guide, these things will fly off the shelves, so be sure to pre-order from your local shop or online store. Don’t risk being left in the cold unforgiving darkness of a world without joy!

Atomic Robo TPB Volume 1 (Second Printing) (OCT091063)
In his double-Eisner-nominated debut series (Best Limited Series, Best Coloring), ATOMIC ROBO takes on Nazis, giant ants, clockwork mummies, walking pyramids, Mars, cyborgs and his nemesis, and Baron von Helsingard. Reprints the sold-out first edition of the smash hit with all-new cover.

180 pages, $18.95, 2009-12-09

Atomic Robo TPB Volume 2 (DEC084219)
Eisner-nominated ATOMIC ROBO lands on the front lines of World War II against the science freaks and devastating weird weaponry of Nazi Germany — from invincible walking tanks to atomic-powered weather cannons to the Monster Soldiers of the Third Reich. Can ROBO and THE SPARROW, Britain’s greatest covert operative, complete their mission and turn the tide of the war without killing one another?

152 pages, $19.95, 2009-02-25

Atomic Robo TPB Volume 3 (OCT091062)
It is 1926 when H.P. LOVECRAFT comes calling to warn ATOMIC ROBO of imminent doom. But the SHADOW FROM BEYOND TIME escapes into the future, intersecting with our world through the 20th century. The future and history of the universe hangs in the balance as ATOMIC ROBO teams up with, uh, ATOMIC ROBO in a last ditch effort to protect reality itself.

160 pages, $18.95, 2009-12-09

I wonder if it'll be possible to acquire a set of all 3 books autographed by both authors. Probably not. Well, no matter what, yours truly will acquire those 3 books.

Finding us at a convention is pretty much your best bet.

Just pre-ordered my copy of the Volume 3 TPB. Can't wait! And I remember seeing in an earlier thread something about there being fewer/no B-stories in the last few issues (I generally wait for trades before buying, so I don't have first hand knowledge). How many are there in total for Volume 3?

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

I believe we managed to get three B-stories in this series.

  • Pattom

That reminds me of something else: how was the response to the Ask Robo! mail-in section? Are any letters going to be printed in the TPB or issues of Volume 4?

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

Pretty good, actually. I'm not sure where the letters will next appear, but I assume Vol 4.

I haven't gone to my comics store yet to order the books, what with professional life having intruded upon Life in a major way, but I just received an email to the effect that my Atomic Robo statue is on its way. I can't wait (but must anyway) to place it next to Captain America.

Pre-ordered my volume 3, and I'm actually contemplating getting volume 1 again, just because it has a different cover to the trade I have… and I get the trades after buying the comics… compulsion.

Also, my statue arrived and I love it! Can't wait for my brother to get his.

    Josh_B, you're a sucker. But that's why we like you! ;D

  • #Triss

    hello
    i love this series.
just thought i'd let you all know.

    So I'll get Vol. 3 for Christmas….

When does Volume 4 issue 1 come out???

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

Volume 4 is currently scheduled to begin in Feb 2010.

I got my Atomic Robo statue today. Yay!
I broke his right thumb when I fitted the gun on. Waugh!
(At least, that doesn't show with the gun on. Sniff.)

Hey, I jsut wanted to say that I tried to order a copy of Vol. 1 on Amazon and that ain't working out too well for me. Is it just not going on there anymore?

  • Mike

Wow, you're not wrong! I just looked over on Amazon too, and the cheapest they've got one (not actually Amazon, but someone selling through them) is used at about $60.

Good thing Red 5 is re-printing in December! You should be able to get it from your local comic shop then (especially if you pre-order), but failing that maybe Amazon will have it back in then too?

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

Yeah, Amazon will probably list the crappy high price until the day the re-print comes out. Your best bet would be to pre-order through a local or online comic shop.

  • The Comix Shoppe

Excellent news! And about time too, lol.
We'll have loads. Love Atomic Robo.

I've already reserved my copy of Vol.3 at the store, but I decided to treat myself and got the story's separate issues. Alas, they are missing the 3rd one. I'll have to make a trip to other comics stores since I saw nothing obvious on Red 5's site about back issues.
