What you’re about to see is basically a proof of concept and nowhere near the final product, but click this link. Trust me.

I have no idea what this is for, but it's awesome.

Also, liking the new comment system.

Yes, what is this for? Or is this a Seekret?

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

    Temporarily secret.

  • Josh_B

I'm going to keep my excitememnt contained… for now.

  • Trimpnick

It wouldn't be related to travelling wouldn't it?

  • Mike

That's freakin' awesome! Can't wait to hear the details!

  • motorjed

That, sir, is pretty bad ass. I'm excited to see if this is going where I think it's going…

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

Nope. Scott's trip was a coincidence.

  • Mike

I've got a guess or two, but I'm trying to contain my excitement, since “proof of concept” is aways from “finished product”, or even “done deal”. However, seeing that logo, along with the fact that I'm really tired because I stayed up to watch They Might Be Giants sing about science on Jimmy Fallon last night, makes me realize that a series of animated PSA's where Robo tries to talk to kids about the importance of science, as things go horribly wrong…might just be the funniest thing I could ever hope to see. Just a mix of Robo, science fact, the old GI Joe “knowing is half the battle” stuff, and the PSAs that the Rooster Teeth guys did for Red vs. Blue.

I'm not sure how my brain got there, but I thought it was funny, and now that I've shared, hopefully I can go back to thinking about work. I've already had about 4 of these fully play out in my head, and the giggling is keeping me from getting anything done. (let alone the looks I'm getting from the co-workers)

The original idea for our mini-comics was that they'd be exactly that.

  • Mike

Which is just more example of why you guys are quickly becoming my heroes…

BTW, I was able to retrieve my Robo statue from the post office yesterday afternoon! It's now set up and sitting on my desk until I determine its permanent home (“on my desk” is a dangerous place). No problems with his finger breaking off to report, but I was extra careful with it because of what other folks here said. When I picked him up, I was on the way to the comic shop for my weekly fix, and took him in with me…you might have sold 2 more last night if there were any left to sell.

Mike… The thumb-breaking was caused by my clumsiness. I still have the thumb. Just in case. (“Thumb-stealin' jerk!” Robo would say.) That being said, I probably should bring it (the statue, not the thumb) to the local comics store. They know about Robo, and they'd get a kick out of that. By the way, they have taken my pre-order for the trade paperbacks, of which I asked for TWO copies of each – there's this kid in Holland whose mind I want to further corrupt. (It all started accidentally when I gave his mom the pocketbook reprint of the original issues of “Girl Genius”.)

  • Mike

It's been a long morning and I'm a little fuzzy…would you call it “ironic” that the Foglios are geniuses? Or is that just an amusing bit of coincidence?

I've got one copy of each of the first 2 trades, and then all the individual issues (and the art book that Scott did awhile back that threw off my box because it's not “comic book” shaped but oh well). I use the trades as bait. They are currently in the possession of one of my co-workers, who had downloaded the first issue onto his iPhone because he was playing with the features, and thought it looked cool, but hated trying to read it on his phone. He asked me about it because I'm the guy people ask about comics, and now he's becoming a big fan! He sounds like he's planning to get copies once they can be bought again, so maybe I can get mine back. Then rinse and repeat.

I heartily endorse this product or service.

No, seriously. I'm willing to exchange shinies, monies, or other valuables for a completed product, just so ya know.

  • Josh_B

So are the statues all sold out?

  • Mike

They're still listed as “In-Stock” on the Split Reason website:
