Summer Doldrums

So people have been emailing, and Formspringing, and Tweeting at us, demanding (and in a few cases, politely asking) what the hell is going on with our regular blog updates. The answer is simple -we got really friggin’ busy all of a sudden.

Right now we’re working on Atomic Robo & The Deadly Art of Science, #2 and #3. That much you know. But in addition to that full-time job we’re both neck-deep in other comic book work for Marvel, and because writing is so easy and anyone can do it, Brian is also hacking up some non-comic book work that I’m not sure I can talk about, so that’s all I’ll say about that.

Believe it or not, updating the Blargh! takes time.

So, for the time being, posts will go up in a more random fashion. I know that stinks for you guys who have your little Internet routines -I’ve got one too. I know how it goes. But I think we’ve been friends long enough that I don’t need to blow sunshine up your butts. Unless it’s your birthday. and that’s really what you want.

We’ll still post here first when we’ve got big announcements to make.

What we are able to keep track of, because it requires little to know thinking on our part, are Twitter, and Formspring. Links to our Twitter accounts are on the left hand nav-bar. You can pester us at Formspring, HERE and HERE.

And hey, check out the cover to Vol.5 #2!

“I wear pants because it’s the law.” That’s totally going to be my motto from now on.

We just hope you take it to heart and start wearing them.

We’ll make the full text available somewhere or another. Definitely in the Vol 5 trade and very likely in a blog post when the issue comes out!

Whoa! So much for my theory that you guys were deliberately holding off on Robo’s “birth” so that you could bookend Robo’s life in the last volume of the series.

Did you guys post the cover art for issue 1? I can’t seem to find it…

  • Josh_B

You answered my question before I even thunk it!

  • Scott!

I think we posted the cover to 5.1. See this is where I get confused. I know I put it on Twitter, ’cause the Twitter app on my phone makes it so easy. Not sure if we ever posted it to the blog. I will though.

Oh, but this volume won’t tell you anything about Robo’s birth. I’ve just decided that since Previews needs the covers well before I even draw the issues that they will only be linked to the actual story in the loosest of ways. Vol.5 is one of Robo’s early adventures. Tesla is in it a little. So this is what popped into my head.

You say that like you expect to SEE a “last volume in the series”…

Personally, I hope they keep doing Robo stories until either they drop dead, or I do.
