Flying She-Devils of the Pacific Creator Commentaries

The good people of Nerdy Show are conducting audio commentary with Scott and I on our latest volume of Atomic Robo.

The first installment is for last month’s issue of She-Devils and you can check it yourself without wrecking yourself right here!

Commentary for Issue #2 is available.

Issue #3 commentary is online!

Issue #4 commentary is ready for take-off!

Issue #5 commentary is go!

Future installments should come out about a week after the relevant issue so folks have a chance to read them before we start babbling about them.

A few corrections, because I speak faster than I think:

A canard is not a rudder. It’s an elevator.

I meant UPA-style, when referring to the old animation backgrounds.

    P-40′s & Bridgit’s scarf -I guess those are tiger’s teeth, not shark’s teeth. WHATEVERYOUKNOWWHATIMEANT!!

I enjoyed the commentary – very interesting, especially the elements about how you collaborate (like the comments on how the FCBD issue wih the giant birds developed).

The two of you do work really well together, which is great. I love to see comics being a team effort, rather than somebody drawing what the writer tells them.

Neither one of us is very good at doing what other people tell us to do. :)

I really dig that your doing commentaries, though i’m gonna hold off on listening to them till the volume is done.

You guys ever hear of the show “Tales of the Gold Monkey”? It was one of the inspirations for Tale Spin. A great show in my opinion.

  • Scott!

I was introduced to that show by the Geek Syndicate a year or two ago. I’d never seen it as a kid. The idea is a lot of fun. It’s on YouTube.

It DOES NOT hold up. At. All. Like, I can still watch Magnum P.I. sometimes. But Tales of the Golden Monkey -not really.

Wish I’d seen it as a kid. I would have LOVED it.

High Road To China is a movie worth checking out for fun airplane adventure action.

It’s their comic they can make them sharks teeth. And hay if they can go amphibious like in Sky Captain that would work. Every hear of a tiger shark?

That’s Scott commenting on this post to correct his own statements though.

"The truth may be puzzling. It may take some work to grapple with.
It may be counterintuitive. It may contradict deeply held prejudices.
It may not be consonant with what we desperately want to be true.
But our preferences do not determine what's true."
