Where is the new Real Science Adventures TPB?

Where is the new Real Science Adventures TPB?

That’s a fine question. And one we’ve been asking for a while ourselves.

Here’s what we know.

We know these books are real. Red 5 has their copies. We have our personal copies. They exist and incidentally they look nice.

So why do online stores like Amazon say it’s “out of stock”? Another fine question!

We don’t know. UPDATE Feb 10th: Amazon now reports a release date of 2/26

But they should go be available through all the usual local and online retailer channels “soon.”

If it’s any consolation, the volume is already available via ComiXology. Y’know. If you’re into that sort of thing.

I like my Science Adventures digital and my Atomic Robo in tpbs.
I’m still hoping for a collected version of the first 3 to 5 volumes. Those are the ones that I let people borrow to hook them on Robo. Now they are starting to look beat up.

  • JB

I actually let folks use my digital copies as borrow ones and won’t ‘em touch my hard copies! Well, unless they’re in my presence after thoroughly washing their hands.

We are very interested in multi-volume hardcover editions. Maybe this year?

  • Rob Pugh

It’s gone from “out of stock” to “not yet published” with a date of 2/25. Hope that sticks… looking forward to ordering it! You guys rock.

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

Thank god. That’s the first time we’ve gotten a release date on this thing.

    “Thank you”, Diamond.

  • Steven Palchinski-Guerrero

Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes!
And would they be faux leatherbound?

  • JP

Just Pre-ordered it from Amazon….can’t wait!!!

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

    Probably not.

  • Steven Palchinski-Guerrero

    a guy can dream…

  • BeastieRunner

    I’d buy those.

  • Sparko

FYI, Savage Sword also shows to have the same, Out of Print message that Real Science 2 had. Scheduled release date on Amazon was noted as Feb 12.

  • Scott!

I think that was the release date before all the coloring/printing/shipping snafus occurred. We will have a revised date soon.

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

    Yup!

  • Sparko

    Awesome. Thanks guys.

  • Marcel Vachon

Just curious, as creators do you receive more $ from the digital or print versions? I hope it is digitally as I tend to buy your books (and own ALL of them) digitally. Also, have you thought of having someone else carry on RSA? I would LOVE to have new adventures and two Robo type books a month to purchase!

  • Scott!

I know we earn more on each single digital issue, but I do not know how it breaks down for the TPBs -vs- digital volumes.

Honestly, we want people to get the books in whatever format they like best. :)

There are currently two more RSA volumes waiting to get done, and I have no doubt that there will be more. We’re just slammed dealing with vol.9 and the KickStarter right now.

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

We get a higher percentage on digital issues, but from a lower price point, so the $$$ works out so close to the $$$ from print issues that it makes no significant difference to us which you get.

Trades get us the most cash per unit sold. But when you break it down into what the money would have been if it was bought in individual print or digital issues, again, it’s so close that it doesn’t make a difference to us.

Therefore: buy the one you like best!

  • Rob Pugh

Well, I pre-ordered it on the 22nd, and it’s back to “Out of Print — Limited Availability” on Amazon with no estimated shipping date for the order I placed. Bummer. And fwiw, V8 The Savage Sword… shows the same Out of Print message. Hope wherever the snafu is, Amazon/Red 5/printer/wherever, that it unscrews itself at some point…

  • Jason Roberts

It’s 3/9/14 and it’s still listed as out of print, limited availability.

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

Not “still” so much as “is again.” It went on sale a while back but it appears that not all orders were fulfilled. Amazon is now incorrectly listing it as out of print rather than out of stock.

  • comicschik

Barnes And Noble seems to have it. Perhaps Amazon is working with Doctor Dinosaur.

  • Comicschik

However Barnes & Noble is also still listing the Savage Sword Of Dr. Dinosaur as ‘this paperback is not available through BN.Com.

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

Definitely a vile Dr. Dinosaur plot at work.

  • JP

Just got my amazon shipping confirmation for RSA Vol 2. Hopefully Volume 8 is not far behind

  • http://www.nuklearpower.com Brian!

Ah. That coincides with the mysterious massive spike in sales of Amazon products that have my name in them. A big batch of RSAv2 orders must be on the move.

  • JP

    Got it today…..

i give away my singles and keep the trades.
