Here’s a few things that are too big for Twitter but not big enough for their own posts.

First off, Scott’s an idiot. Okay, I lied, that does warrant its own post. He’ll be at NYCC this weekend hanging out with Jetpack Press in booth #2402. Be sure to take pleasure in his self-inflicted misery.

Just a quick reminder! Volume 2, Atomic Robo and the Dogs of War comes out on the 18th. You should get it.

Also, the script for 3.4 is kicking my ass. The first two were laughably easy. I’d basically already written them, it was just a matter of formatting the dialog into panel 1, panel 2, etc. The third one was a challenge, but an invigorating one. It was my first real shot at writing horror. Hell, I’m not sure if it qualifies as “horror”, but there’s definitely a build up of what I will call “spooky tension” and I think it turned out pretty okay.

But the fourth issue. The fourth issue is a problem and it’s all Carl Sagan’s fault. I’ve got to balance remaining true to his essential Carl-ness with moving the story forward while circumventing my tendency to make at least one person in a conversation increasingly crazy, stupid, or a jackass as it progresses. So, I spent all weekend writing the same discussion three times. But, hell, I’m happy with the results, so I can’t complain.

Lastly, I love this blog.

Would giving Sagan an assistant help? Then you could have somebody in the room who CAN get increasingly crazy, stupid, and a jackass.

So more Carl Sagan, eh? Might we eventually see what Robo must have done to piss off Hawking too?

    I really must buy Cosmos.

Is vol. 3 another 5 issue job? Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to it. I only just got into Lovecraft, and I love his prose, so I'm really interested to see how he comes across in the Roboverse.

Also, I don't know where else to ask, so I might as well do it here where people might be inclined to help. Can anybody hook me up with a first printing on vol. 1 #6? Despite initial ordering from Diamond, I never recieved a copy, and I just can't make do with a second print. I'll pay anyone who can help for their trouble.

I just checked Heavy Ink, and they seem to be out of stock. That's where I got the last few I needed for my customers when the "doesn't interact with the customers or read the books" general manager gouged my order form and didn't tell me. I checked with a friend I've still got at that store, and they don't have any left from my "restock" either. I'll definitely keep my eyes out for you though.

    Good luck!

One day we will learn the full depths of their mutual loathing, but not in Vol 3.

Cosmos is a terrific series. It should absolutely be required watching in school. What's amazing is that the series is as relevant today as it was 30 years ago.

Our take on H.P. is, well…it's something. You'll see!

Should I replace the old RSS feed with the new one or am I still good to go?

If you're getting the updates you want through your current feed, then I'd say stick with that.

Thanks much Mike. Heavy Ink doesn't ship to the UK yet, so that's why I've had problems.

    Nice blog link.
    My reaction:
My god, intelligent discourse on the internet. I'd forgotten it was real, it's…it's been….so long….*weeps openly*

I thought I had an extra copy or two, but can't for the life of me find them. I was planning on running to a few shops today so I'll check it out for you. Forgive my ignorance, but what's the difference between the first and second prints? I know the one I have no is first print, considering I purchased it the day it was put on the shelves etc, but I don't want to get your hopes up and mail you doodoo you don't want if I happen to find it.

The first print will have a nice, thick, glossy card stock cover. Second prints have paper-like covers that feel more like the interior pages.

It's fantastic. Pretty much everything I've "felt" about the future of AI, the Singularity, and so on, but was never able to adequately articulate.

I've always thought the Singularity was interesting, but only as a thought experiment.

Hey, I know Ebay's not MY preferred way to get stuff, but if it helps, there's a guy on there who's got #6 listed, and specifically says it's a first print. It's not ideal, but at least you'd get the book. Says he's got 4 available.

Also, if it helps you with UK shipping problems, I'm happy to get it and ship it to you.

(Sorry for the double, there's no way to edit these)
