So much to talk about and nothing to say

So, I finally wrapped up the first script for Volume 4: Atomic Robo and Other Strangeness. Maybe I learned my lesson about starting scripts when I’ve only got the first act and the last page figured out.
BUT PROBABLY NOT.
The second issue of this volume had the same problem, only instead of a whole act and an ending, all we had was “Wouldn’t it be cool if…?” Way to go, genius!
I mean, okay, that’s pretty much how every issue of Atomic Robo is born, but by the time it comes to writing them, I like to have a slightly more concrete idea of what’s going on. But only slightly. You need a certain amount of “Uh, now what?” so the characters have a chance to inform you how they’re going to make things happen. But I spent the week researching some real history, and that seems to have provided a stable foundation to build the issue on.
I’ve been feeling a little frustrated with the blog. I’d love to talk about what I’m doing and thinking — for instance, what issue 4.2 was going to be, what it became, and why it changed — but I’m five issues ahead of you guys, so whatever I have to say will be too vague to be worth reading, boring without context, or a big fat spoiler. And it’s not like I have domestic adventures like Scott. I literally sit around all day thinking about things that aren’t real and I can’t even talk about that because, well, I’m five issues ahead of you guys, so whatever I have to say will be too vague to be worth reading, boring without context, or a big fat spoiler.
And then stupid Scott hit me with an idea for what could become the new new Volume 5 and I can’t talk about that either. Bah! Robo 3.3 needs to come out already so I can at least talk about that. My guess is that it’ll be available July 15th, but don’t quote me on that.
