We’ve got the only news big enough to overshadow Apple’s shiny new iPad.

That’s right. Vol 4, Atomic Robo and the Revenge of the Vampire Dimension, Issue #3 will include everyone’s favorite character from and undisputed champion of last year’s Free Comic Book Day, Dr. Dinosaur! Behold!

If you enjoyed the eight pages of Why Atomic Robo Hates Dr. Dinosaur, then you can read and you have to get the next twenty-two pages of that saga, Why Dr. Dinosaur Hates Atomic Robo.

Also available locally, Diamond Code FEB101071.

And, yes, both stories will appear in the trade paperback collection of Volume 4.

Nice. Of course I'm a trade-waiter so I was more excited over the announcement of a fourth trade paperback. Hey, when will that be out? :(

Four weeks to go before the madness begins…

Yes! I loved Dr. Dinosaur! Can't wait for volume 4! I assume it will be a bit more like volume 1 in the sense that it didn't have a “to be continued” at the end of every issue like volume 2? (Not that volume 2 was bad or anything)

@Derg: I would expect the fourth collection to come out around June or July.

@yayap: Every issue of Vol 4 takes place after the previous one, and every issue of Vol 4 is loosely connected to the one before and after it, but they're all one-shots.

I think you guys have done a great job building up a “rogues gallery” for Robo. Between Dr. Dinosaur (my personal favorite), Helsingard, Skorzeny and Hawking, that's pretty damn strong.

    God I hate drawing dinosaurs . . .

  7. Terence!!   |  Thursday, 28 January 2010 at 2:57 pm

Sucks for you, because we LOVE when you draw dinosaurs!

  8. Serge   |  Thursday, 28 January 2010 at 3:02 pm

By the way, is it better for you if we subscribe to receive the individual issues, as opposed to buying them at our local comics stores?

  9. Josh_B   |  Thursday, 28 January 2010 at 3:48 pm

    @Scott- Why is that exactly?

  10. Brian!   |  Thursday, 28 January 2010 at 4:34 pm

It doesn't matter to us where you buy your comics, we get the same royalties. Get them from the source that works best for you!

So, just a thought, will the TPB say “Other Strangeness” or “Revenge of the Vampire Dimension” on it.

  12. Serge   |  Thursday, 28 January 2010 at 7:14 pm

Brian… Then I'll go the comic-store route. It helps the local economy, and it raises the awareness of people at the store.

Probably Revenge of the Vampire Dimension so we don't have a ton of people asking if they missed a trade when one comes out with a different title than its issues were originally credited with.

Vampires, Dinosaurs with doctorates AND atomic powered Robots. You guys are too good to us.

thats all well and good, but will there be CRYSTALS!!?!?

  16. Matt_B   |  Saturday, 30 January 2010 at 9:28 am

Yes, but the real question is: How does he get on with Feynman?

  17. Brian!   |  Saturday, 30 January 2010 at 6:36 pm

He who? Robo or Dr. Dinosaur?

  18. Matt_B   |  Sunday, 31 January 2010 at 1:01 am

Sorry, Robo. Was in reply to Josh_B's post, so it …kinda made sense, but I should have been more clear.

What are the odds of getting a Doctor Dinosaur wallpaper? He needs to replace my velociraptor mounted in a gatling. He's just that awesome.

I always miss the FCBD stuff – it really needs its own trade! Big on dinosaurs, not so big on Vampires, but loves me some Robo.

If you hate vampires, then Volume 4 is for you. It starts off with beating them to death for an issue. Dr. Dinosaur's FCBD debut will be included in the Volume 4 trade as well. It's the introduction to the full 22-page issue of Dr. Dino action coming in April.
