Free Comic Book Day 2013 is May 4th!

Free Comic Book Day 2013 is May 4th!

Go to your local store.

Grab some free comics.

Uh, make sure they are free first. You can’t just raid the shelves like it’s Supermarket Sweep.

It is particularly important to pick up the FCBD edition of Atomic Robo. It’s also got a preview of Jay Fosgitt’s Bodie Troll.

Buy other comics while you’re there!

That’s a hell of a Saturday, folks.

Special Bonus Round

If you’re in the Raleigh-Durham area, come by Ultimate Comics. They go all out on FCBD with a big outdoor show, free live music, some food and drinks, and tons of comics creators. Atomic Robo‘s very own Brian Clevinger is one of them. Wow!

  • Devin Harrigan

    Oh snap, Free comics !

  • Grey Duck

Sadly, I went to two — TWO — comic shops, 40 miles apart, but neither had Robo. Which is too bad, because I was also pretty excited for Bodie Troll. Because goats.

  • Kaijumaster

My local comic shop didn’t order the book for the 5th year running…
So I went to the next shop over……They had three slots on their shelf STACKED with Robo!

Also, loving the prequel nature for Vol. 8!

  • David Thiel

No Atomic Robo FCBD book here in Champaign, IL either. Will it be on Comicxology?

  • Direct Current

Great story, gets you set up for a larger arc.

  • Serge Broom

I went yesterday, grabbed my own free copy of “Robo”, and a couple of extra copies for young minds I want to corrupt.

  • Brian!

I believe so. We’ll have it here on the site soon either way though.

  • Brian!

We’ll put it on the site in a while. It’ll also appear in the Vol 8 TPB I believe.

  • Safraz Sattaur

I’m another sad sack whose comic shop didn’t have any FCBD Atomic Robo issues. I was going to ask if you’d post it here (since it’s free anyway and all), but I just saw the replies saying you would. Thanks for that! I’m looking forward to it.

  • DrDuber

I was almost one of those guys whose shop didn’t order them. But then I leaned over behind the counter and saw two more boxes of FCBD stuff. I think the store ordered some of the comics in smaller quantities and hid them specifically for people that were looking for them. So I just grabbed one. And then handed another one to a Dad standing nearby with his two kids. And told him about this site. My role as drug peddler has begun.

  • Matrix Dragon

And it’s up on Comixology. Thank goodness for that. I was too late to get a physical copy on Saturday (It was the first comic my store ran out of), so I’ve been waiting all week hoping it’d come out today.

i love robo but i am confused in once upon a time in mexico did jenkins kill those two scientist or did he just throttle them , do you plan to tell a comprehensive tale of the origin of robo and jenkins partnership also does jenkins practice a field of science apart from the science of violence

  • Brian!

Nope. Those guys are, I believe, Benjamin and Bernard whom we see over and over.

The origin of Robo and Jenkins is found in a Vol 1 back-up story, The Survivor.

Jenkins is sort of the Robo version of the typical comic book style “super soldier.” Except instead of special conditioning, or injections, or genetic manipulation or whatever, Jenkins is simply Jenkins. I suppose the idea is that for every human activity, there’s someone in the world who is the best at it. Jenkins is that for soldiering.

  • cyberwulf

i’ve read the survivor i mean’t when jenkins first joined tesladyne also is unearthed the first time jenkins encountered helsinguard

  • Devin Harrigan

Jenkins is the Mozart of fucking your shit up.
