Savage Sword of Dr. Dinosaur CONCLUDED

Savage Sword of Dr. Dinosaur CONCLUDED

Pick it up at your local comic shop or grab it on your superphone Star Trek datapad thing.

That was a hell of a ride. You have no idea how hard it’s been to keep things under wraps on this end.

Feel free to discuss the story line or what you expect to see in the follow up in the comments of this post. Folks who haven’t read the issue are warned not to scroll further down because of HUGE CRAZY SPOILERS!

Seriously though, you’ve been warned.

Triple warned now.

Almost like we’re using the format of the blog post itself to shield you from the dread serpent of spoilers.

I don’t wanna hear no whining.

At this point you’ve got no one but yourself to blame.

Okay then.

If you’re sure.

  • Mario Di Giacomo

Hate you so much… now I have to wait for Vol 9 to start (I assume. If you really wanted to be sadistic, the next arc will be another past storyline).

Seriously, double cliffhanger? That is both brilliant and evil. Not unlike the good doctor, now that I think of it.

  • Brian!

Vol 9 is 100% concerned with the fallout from Vol 8. So is Vol 10, now that I think about it.

All this because ALAN screwed with some documents to make Robo look like an international nuclear arms dealer. That jerk!

  • Mario Di Giacomo

Well, that makes the wait _slightly_ less onerous. But only slightly.

  • Ray

So now we have to hound you with the obvious: when does vol 9 hit the shelves?

  • Kaijumaster

Glorious, And furthers my statement that A.L.A.N. is the best antagonist you’ve yet done. Given what we know about 10 already it lends information on what will happen. Though now that Robo has been proven completely wrong and time travel is possible, will be be tempted to mess with things…..

  • Brian!

I forget, but it’s somewhere between March and May. We had to turn in the solicit info a week or two ago, so I would tend to favor the earlier side of that range.

  • Pattom

Out of all the insane things going on in this volume, the biggest surprise is that Doctor Dinosaur actually probably knows what he’s talking about when it comes to crystals and magma worms and time travel.Did you guys have that planned out while working on his original FCBD story?

  • Brian!

Not the magma worm and hollow earth and everything, but yes, the whole point of establishing that Dr. Dinosaur’s “origin” story as patently absurd and impossible was to set up the punchline that is the cliffhanger of this volume.

  • Scott!

We solicited for a May release. Originally it was April, but Red5 wanted to push it out a month b/c of our other obligations with the KickStarter.

  • rscheckel

Okay, so… DAMMIT! Does Tesla, then, NOT create Robo?! No… that
wouldn’t make any sense given Volume 3. Um… Old West Robo has to find
an Old West Doc Brown?! You jerks are the worst kind of jerks! ;-)

  • Brian!

Guess you’ll just have to find out.

  • Scott!

Oh Tesla wasn’t real. That part was all a dream.

  • Fistigons

Thank you for not making us wait too long to read about the fallout. That would have been pretty rough.
PS tell everyone at RED 5 comics that they are the coolest publishers this world has ever seen.

  • Fistigons

Atomic Robo appeared in this weeks Line is Drawn. Or should I say Atomic Roba.

  • Andrew Wurm

So, I’ve been collecting this book since volume 1 issue 1, and it’s definitely the first thing I read each Wednesday when it comes out.

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I’VE HEARD ABOUT THIS KICKSTARTER I FEEL LIKE A TERRIBLE FAN will there be a way to purchase the Tesladyne Field Guide once backer fulfillment has been completed for us totally uncool plebeians who missed out on the Kickstarter?

  • Brian!

Yup. Not sure when, but definitely this year. Meanwhile: where the hell were you?! It’s all we talked about on Twitter for a month straight.

  • Andrew Wurm

    I was… not on Twitter?

  • Scott!

I saw this and it is THE BEST!

  • Scott!

Now you have a reason to be. ;D

  • Jim Lancaster

I hereby nominate “Thus Spake Dr. Dinosaur, King of Time: Adios Morons” to be the single greatest line of dialogue to ever appear in comics. Or anywhere else, for that matter. Take that, Shakespeare!

  • BeastieRunner

… and it had me laughing all week!

  • Brian!

    Sounds good to me.
