I am seeking a studio assistant to help with the production of Atomic Robo and other projects. Ideally, an art student with some experience making comics. This will be a great opportunity to learn valuable pre-press skills and gain insight into the process of creating comic books and graphic novels!
REQUIREMENTS:
- Be able to commit to 1 day per week (day negotiable)
- Be able to commute to West Brighton, Staten Island, NY (rides to/from ferry usually available)
- Basic Photoshop skills
- Familiarity with Illustrator or InDesign would be great, but not required
JOBS WILL INCLUDE:
- Scanning black and white comic and thumbnail pages
- Digitally cleaning up art files in Photoshop
- Occasionally Flatting colors for comic pages
- Prepping packages for shipping Occasionally dropping off packages at post office
This is an unpaid position, but you will receive credit in any printed works.

If you ever want to totally exhaust yourself, take the 1 train to 14th Street, walk West a bit, then head down 8th Ave. until you realize that you got a little turned around and walked several blocks too far South. Walk West until you hit Washington, then turn North until you find Ganesvoort and the start of the High Line Park. Section Two opened recently, and we were keen to check it out. Continue reading
