Back From Italy, Caio!

I can’t believe it’s been almost a week since we got back. I’m still a little off my schedule. Last night I stayed up until midnight and it was amazing -until about Thursday my internal clock was still rockin’ out on Milano time -six hours ahead of us.

Italy was, of course, amazing. The food, the people, the history, the mopeds, the insane drivers, and most importantly -the coffee. Our guide for the week was the incredible Michele Forschini, who despite the fact that I emailed in advance and asked for the correct pronunciation of his name tolerated me mangling it almost the entire time we were there. I had written it down phonetically and committed it to memory -incorrectly. Despite that, Michele made certain that we were well fed and thoroughly entertained. In Milano I acted exactly like the silly awestruck tourists I make fun of back home in New York.

So I just finished the Atomic Robo page I started last night, and as soon as I post this, I’ll be starting work on the next page. Which I have to finish today if I’m going to have a prayer of finishing Robo 4.1 before Brian and I leave for Italy at the end of the month. I officially have 10 pages, and 9 1/2 work days to get them done in.

To be honest, those are much better odds than I usually have to deal with.

In VERY EXCITING BIRTHDAY NEWS, I woke up next to a smokin’ hot redhead this morning! As it turns out, she is my wife. But I didn’t recognize her because yesterday she was thirty-florbli*cough cough*, and this morning she is one whole year older!

They grow up so fast. It seems like just yesterday I was telling Marge down at the salon that little Dee was turning fourteen hundred and fifty-six weeks old. And now here we are celebrating the anniversary of that special day yet again.

As usual I made her a card, but she snagged it away from me before I could scan it. Maybe I’ll get to share it with you later.
