The Mystery of the Missing Trades!

The release of Atomic Robo and the Shadow From Beyond Time along with the re-print of Atomic Robo and the Fightin’ Scientists of Tesladyne have been plagued by some kind of curse. It may have been from when I ran over that gypsy stereotype’s kid with my car and she brushed my cheek and said in a rasp like the sigh of a tombstone, “Delaaay.”

What you should take from that is the following: both volumes will come out Wednesday. But your specific store may not get one or both. If this happens, do not panic. Your order has not been lost, you have not been cheated, everything is super kosher. It just means you won’t get your Robo book(s) until the next time Diamond ships to your store, Jan 6th, 2010. If you placed your order online, uh, I dunno! Assume Jan 6th as the release date if you don’t get a shipping confirmation e-mail by Dec 28th.

These delays have nothing to do with Team Robo or Red 5 Comics, by the way. The comics printer and the comics distributor are to blame. And that gypsy stereotype.

I guess a case could be made that I shouldn’t have run over her kid. But in my defense, I was running a red light and that’s something you just have to do all the way once you make the commitment.

Saw some posts and e-mails looking for a place to talk about the new issue, so let’s make that happen!

In case you live under a rock, which is totally understandable in this economy, the fifth and final issue of Atomic Robo and the Shadow From Beyond Time came out this week. Don’t forget to get your copy. For those of you who prefer trade paperbacks, that’ll be available on December 9th. Meanwhile, here’s a non-spoiler preview of what you’re missing.

Let’s open the floor to discussion about issue five, or hell, the whole series, what we’re doing next, all that jazz. If it’s Robo related, get to typin’!
